What we treat

Aging male syndrome

The term “aging male syndrome” is not a medically recognized condition. However, some men experience various physical, psychological, and sexual changes as they age, which may be attributed to declining levels of testosterone.

Some common symptoms that men may experience as they age include:

  • decreased energy levels,
  • decreased muscle mass and strength,
  • increased body fat,
  • decreased libido and sexual function,
  • mood changes, including depression and irritability,
  • decreased bone density,
  • hair loss,
  • sleep disturbances,
  • cognitive changes, such as memory problems and difficulty concentrating.

While these symptoms may be associated with aging, they can also be caused by other medical conditions, such as depression, sleep apnea, and low thyroid function. Therefore, it is important to consult a healthcare provider for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Hormone replacement therapy may be an option for some men with low testosterone levels, but it should be carefully considered and monitored by a healthcare provider.
